LTE, Wireless Networks with Fastest Growth

Network technology Long Term Evolution, or LTE, is claimed as the fastest growing wireless network. Since LTE is a lot of support from the provider of telecommunications equipment and solutions, mobile operators, and mobile device makers.

Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) oust LTE as the wireless network with the fastest adoption.

The same thing also disclosed research agency Strategy Analytics, who predicts there are 90 million people who subscribe to LTE by the end of this year, and 1 billion people in 2017.

LTE is proposed as an international standard by NTT DoCoMo of Japan in 2004. After going through research and development by various parties, LTE was first commercialized for the public by the mobile operator TeliaSonera in Stockholm and Oslo on December 14, 2009.

After that, some developed countries have decided to adopt LTE.

Strategic Marketing Manager Ericsson, Warren Chaisatien said the mobile operator Telstra of Australia declared itself will conduct LTE in March 2010. Then in September 2010, Telstra began to commercialize LTE in Australia.

"Implementation of LTE in Australia is not only beneficial to the telecommunications industry, but also the entire industry needs a super-fast internet access," said Warren who is based in Australia.

According to data released by GSA September 2012, there are currently 96 mobile operators in 46 countries are already offering commercial LTE network. In Asia Pacific, there are seven countries that have conducted LTE, namely Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Philippines, and India.

Then, 347 mobile operators in 104 countries have committed and start investing in LTE infrastructure. This investment can be trials or research and development of LTE technology.

In Indonesia, the three mobile operators (Telkomsel, Indosat and XL Axiata) has been testing LTE.

Needs conduct LTE network is also caused by increased penetration of smartphones and tablet usage, and more frequently used to download applications and content. Thus, mobile operators feel the need to increase the capacity and speed of data access.

In Singapore, for example, the use of smartphone penetration reaches 150%. Meanwhile, according to Ericsson ConsumerLab the recently released, Singapore occupies the first position in terms of smartphone ownership (74% penetration) and second place in tablet ownership (31% penetration) globally.

Chaisatien said the growing adoption of LTE over 2 to 3 years faster than 3G.

Other support came from the LTE smartphone and tablet manufacturers, who began making products with LTE support. Until now, there were dozens of supporting LTE smartphones, including Apple's iPhone 5.

However, almost all devices that support LTE is priced expensive, and not fully supporting LTE networks across frequencies.

Things that Need to Know About LTE

Telecommunications companies and mobile operators in developed countries are heavily LTE wireless network service offering. Likewise manufacturers of mobile devices, the more enterprising offer products that support LTE network.

LTE is touted as the fastest wireless network today, as the successor to the 3G network. LTE wireless network even claimed to be the fastest growing.

LTE networks has so far not available in Indonesia. Thus, not a few people who do not know what it is LTE.

Long Term Evolution, or LTE, is the new standard to increase the capacity and speed of current networks. LTE uses a different radio, but still use the basic GSM / EDGE and UMTS / HSPA. LTE is often referred to as 4G (fourth generation), to distinguish it from the 3G network.

LTE was first adopted by the mobile operator TeliaSonera in Stockholm and Oslo on December 14, 2009.

LTE speeds

LTE can reach a maximum speed 299.6Mbps to download and 75.4Mbps for the upload. However, mobile operators networks are available, there is still limited capacity and speed for its customers. Governance in a country also have different ways to set the allocation of the frequency band range.

Why LTE frequencies are different in every country?

Basically LTE could walk across frequencies. However, the implementation of LTE networks in each country, could be located at a different frequency spectrum. This is caused by the availability of frequency spectrum is set by the government and mobile operators are licensed LTE.

In addition, some frequencies have also been used for other services. In Indonesia, for example, the frequency of 700MHz is used for analog TV broadcasts, and the frequency of 2.600MHz, used for satellite television service subscription.

This is one reason why LTE frequencies in each country may not be the same. Thus, countries and mobile operators chose to conduct LTE on frequencies available.

Commonly used frequency for LTE

In Asia, the frequency of 1,800 MHz and 2,600 MHz to frequencies commonly used for the implementation of LTE. This frequency is used by Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and several European countries.

In Japan and the United States, LTE runs on 700MHz or 2.100MHz frequency.

Just a note, some countries also use 800MHz and 850MHz frequencies for LTE.

LTE Smartphone can not be used globally

Frequently encountered a smartphone or tablet LTE can not activate its LTE network in the country.

Third-generation iPad tablet, for example, can not run LTE in Australia. This is due to the radio antenna chip generation iPad 3 does not support the LTE network at a particular frequency.

Not only the iPad, Apple is making the iPhone 5 model in two variants GSM frequency support LTE.

First, the iPhone 5 (GSM) Model A1429 supporting LTE networks in the frequency of 2.100MHz, 1800Hmz, and 850MHz. However, it does not support LTE in the 700MHz frequency.

Second, the iPhone 5 (GSM) Model A1428 supports LTE network in the 700MHz frequency. Apparently, Apple will ship the iPhone 5 model for the United States and Canada only.

However, as the number of mobile operators providing LTE network, not rule the smartphone and tablet manufacturers will provide a universal radio chip products that support LTE network at all frequencies.

Costs are still expensive

LTE service subscription price today is relatively more expensive. Naturally, LTE provides data access speed faster than 3G.

Not a few LTE subscribers in developed countries, are very concerned about the use of data capacity they use to charge their mobile cards are not swollen.

Business Networks, Ericsson to Challenger Strong of China

Ericsson claimed itself as a manufacturer of telecommunications network equipment market share in Indonesia and the world. However, Ericsson is aware of the fierce competition from the Chinese manufacturers are aggressively offering competitive prices.

"In terms of costs, strong competition coming from China," said Hans Vestberg CEO of Ericsson Group during a visit to Jakarta, Thursday (14/09/2012).

"But this is the competition. Fact seems strange in the telecommunications industry there is no competition, we just harder to make differentiation," he added.

Vestberg is confident that Ericsson can survive, and continue to dominate the market with the technology and services offered. Ericsson also put huge investment in payer systems, software and solutions.

Men born in Sweden, June 23, 1965 This story, ten years ago there were 15 manufacturers of telecommunication equipment. But not all of them can survive. Now only five major manufacturers in the telecommunication industry.

"We are one of the companies that will still last ten years later," said Vestberg.

He claims, Ericsson is still ranked first, which stood at 60% global market share. This amount is more than double the market share held by producers in second.

Ericsson has been present in Indonesia for more than 100 years. Currently, Ericsson Indonesia led by Sam Saba, who served as President of Ericsson Indonesia since February 1, 2012.

Ilmuwan Berhasil Lacak Kematian Kepiting Purba

250 Million Year-Old Insects Trapped In Resin

Scientists have discovered the oldest insects preserved in amber (amber). Specimens, one flies and two mites, found in the resin droplets of northeast Italy.

This insect age about 100 million years older than other amber arthropods ever collected. This discovery is similar themes in Jurassic Park, where dinosaurs cloned from DNA found in the blood of mosquitoes preserved in stone resin YNG.

The findings, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, paving the way for a better understanding of the evolution of the most diverse groups of organisms on earth.

"Amber is an invaluable tool for paleontologists preserve specimens for microscopic scale, allowing an accurate estimate of the evolutionary changes over millions of years, says author David Grimaldi, a curator at the American Museum of Natural History.
