ZTE Completes Test FDD/TDD LTE PS World's First

ZTE Corporation successfully completed testing of the transfer / handover PS (packet switching) network in FDD / TDD LTE the first in the world. Testing is to build a foundation for seamless communication between the operational modes of different LTE.

Infrastructure used for testing commercial systems include equipment provided by ZTE and a card FDD / TDD LTE dual-mode of the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited (ASTRI).

This testing showed that when the dual-mode FDD / TDD LTE and LTE networks connected to the many large files are being downloaded, the success rate of two-way transfer of FDD / TDD LTE can reach 100%. Amazingly, the quality of user experience that is not affected.

This experiment was designed to improve the user experience in migration scenarios in a network of FDD / TDD LTE. This is part of ZTE's strategy to encourage interoperability and convergence of LTE networks.

ZTE have successfully completed interoperability testing and TDD-LTE FDD-LTE/UMTS/GSM the first in the world. In addition, vendors from China also claims to be the first to launch a data card TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE/UMTS/GSM and dual-standby smartphone prototype for TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/GSM network. Last year, dual-mode network type TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE launched in Sweden by ZTE and Hi3G.

"The function is supported and enhanced performance provides an opportunity for operators to accelerate the industrial development of LTE," said Wang Shouchen, Vice President of ZTE.

"As a next step, ZTE is planning to install this technology in other tissues that have been launched," he continued, in a written statement on Sunday (5/27/2012).

In Q1 2012, ZTE managed to get 30 commercial contracts for LTE and build a network of more than 100 trials with leading operators in various countries.

Eight of them are commercially launched, including the CSL in Hong Kong, SoftBank in Japan, Hi3G Sweden, H3G in Austria, and Bharti Airtel.
