Google: 900 Android thousand 'Birth' Every Day

The popularity of Android has been no death. Bos Android, Andy Rubin, claiming that there are currently more than 900 thousand new Android devices are activated every day.

The number was up from previous statistics. In late February, Google said there are about 850 thousand Android devices activated per day.

Indeed, according to data from several research firm, Android is the most popular operating system in the world today. IDC data showed the Android OS market share globally is 59% in the first quarter of 2012.

Android assessed will still dominate the market for a long time although it is likely to decline. By 2016, IDC expects Android's market share declined slightly in the range of 52.9%.

On the other hand, the smartphone market is predicted to continue to soar. In 2012, sales of smart phones is predicted between 750 to 800 million units with sales of more than USD 230 billion.

As quoted by Computerworld, Tuesday (12/06/2012), among others, the growth fueled by the cheapening of the price. Chinese vendors such as Huawei and ZTE are expected to continue to release inexpensive smartphone.
