Telkom Still Interested StarOne Acquisition

Jakarta - Telkom plans to acquire Starone, fixed wireless business unit Indosat, has yet to subside. Evidence, the assessment is still ongoing and has received the blessing of the Minister for SOEs.

Telkom president director Rinaldi Firmansyah indicated, it was still eager to acquirefixed wireless access technology based on code division multiple access (CDMA) it'scompetitors.

"We're still in the position of reviewing any proposed acquisition that would run the company, including business unit CDMA (StarOne) it," Rinaldi said on the sidelines ofIndonesian ICT Outlook 2012: Resisting the Doomsday of Big Telco Players, in Jakarta,Wednesday (14/3 / 2012).

According to him, the acquisition is part of the company's strategy to sustain organic revenue. Since three years ago, Telkom is heavily corporate action by acquiring several companies, such as AdMedika, Scicom, Infomedia.

Indeed StarOne acquisition plan has been spread since the beginning of 2011, but until the close of the year not done likewise. Rinaldi himself admits that they have not submitted a proposal to the Ministry of SOEs to the plan.

"Every study that will be realized must be submitted to the shareholders," said Rinaldi.

Still on the same occasion, President & CEO Harry Sasongko Indosat says it is open towork with any carrier to utilize its assets.

"We always review the possibilities that can be done with partners. Whether it's for activenetworks, the provision of content, or other," said Harry.
