Nokia wants to push the price of a smartphone Windows Phone artificial as cheap as possible. It was considered important to fight Android handsets are sold at an affordableprice range.
"We compete with Android. Android in some markets has reached the price of 100 eurosso we still have a duty to make a low end smartphone for new smartphone users," saidNiklas Savander, Nokia Executive Vice President at Pocket Link.
Windows Phone from Nokia is the cheapest 610 Lumia, and even then the price is 189euro or in the range of USD 2 million. They are targeting a lower price than that. Nokia toWindows Phone increasingly popular and replace Symbian, the operating system they areold.
"Symbian does the job very well reach a new smartphone user, but this of course platfomaging. And functionality may not develop as it should, so we need to continue to suppress the price of the handset (Windows Phone) down," said Savander.
Nokia is hoping a lot of Windows Phone from Microsoft to restore their former glory.Currently, there are four series of Windows Phone Nokia released the Lumia 610, 710,800 and 900 Lumia.
