San Francisco: Google has bought Sparrow, the management software provider of electronic mail (email) for the Apple platform, according to an announcement Sparrow on Friday (20/7).
"Now we join the Gmail team to realize a larger vision, which we think we can achieve better with Google," said chief executive officer Sparrow, Dom Leca in the announcement posted on the networking company.
Sparrow stated the application will continue to be available for a while, but they do not plan to issue a new feature for applications Sparrow in the near future, the company said in an email to the users, as reported by Xinhua.
Sparrow offers email services, which is officially called mail user agent. Sparrow is a program used to access and manage e-mail users. The company launched its application for the Apple operating system, OS X, in October 2011 and applications for Apple's mobile operating system, IOS. Both are gaining popularity in a short time because of a simple and efficient service.
