South Korea Develops 3D Without Glasses Film Technology

Researchers in South Korea are developing technology that could pave the way filming Casino 3D without the need for special glasses.

The technology uses a special coating so that when people see the movie screen, a 3D image is created. In this way, the brain creates a kind of illusion.

The research was conducted at Seoul National University and published in the journal Optics Express.

"This way, people can view 3D images without glasses. Saved approximately projector is being used and not just one," said Professor John Koshel of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona, who examined the study.

He describes the technology of 3D images in cinema created using stereocopy; technique projecting 2D images through special filters.

With the naked eye, the two images appear to rest on each other. However, when using special glasses, the left lens will help the eyes to see the image and the right lens, the other images.

TV director has tried similar technology but the viewer should be at some point to see the 3D image.

Electronics company that manufactures television sets also have implemented such technologies and allows a family sitting at a specific place watching a 3D movie.

However, such technology is not applicable to audiences totaling tens or even hundreds of like in the movies.

South Korean team mimicked these technologies but adapted to a wider coverage.

Scientist who led the study, Byoungho Lee, a professor at Seoul National University, said more research is needed.

But this technology is the "low-cost technology to produce 3D movies without the use of special glasses
