Google: 500 million Android devices with System Now Have Active

SAN FRANCISCO, - Google announced on Wednesday (09.12.12) local time, 500 million devices that operate Android operating system has been active so far.

"Today is a big day for Android, 500 million active devices globally, over 1.3 million are growing every day," said Hugo Bara, Director of Production Management at Google Android, Google's in one post.

In June, Google said 400 million Android devices have been activated and the amount is one million per day.

Google announced the milestone was not long before Apple launched the iPhone 5. Most recent smartphones from Apple is showing a wider screen and support for LTE networks, both of which have been available on smart phones that use the Android system for more than a year.

According to the latest data from research company IDC end, there are four Android phones for every iPhone that shipped during the second quarter of this year.

The amount is an increase of the ratio of 2.5 to one during the same period last year
